The Tour de Suisse is one of Europe’s leading cycling races, covering long distances across Switzerland’s cities, mountains, and remote valleys. Coordinating race officials, security teams, traffic control, broadcast crews, and support vehicles required a communication system that could deliver reliable real-time connectivity throughout the event.
To support the 2024 race, nearly 400 Telox TE320 LTE Push-to-Talk radios were deployed, enabling smooth communication across 18 operational groups from start to finish.
I. Nationwide Coverage: The race route crossed cities, mountains, and remote valleys, requiring continuous communication across Switzerland.
II. Multi-Team Coordination: Race officials, security, traffic management, broadcast crews, police, and support vehicles required dedicated communication channels.
III. High Network Demand: Large crowds along the route created network congestion, making reliable communication critical for race safety.
IV. Mobile Fleet Operations: Escort vehicles and motorcycles needed stable, hands-free communication while moving throughout the race.
I. Global LTE Bands & Dual SIM: Ensured stable connectivity across the entire race route.
II. Instant Push-to-Talk: Enabled real-time communication between race control, vehicles, security, and field teams.
III. 3W Loud Speaker: Delivered clear voice communication in busy outdoor environments.
IV. IP67 Protection: Supported reliable performance in changing weather and demanding conditions.
V. 2-inch Color Screen: Allowed quick channel selection and simple operation during mobile deployments.
